The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is extending a number of hunting seasons because of last week's winter weather.

Officials say the winter storm interfered with hunting activity, so they're doing what they can to maximize hunting opportunities.

Hunting seasons have been extended in various locations for quail, rabbit, squirrel, feral hogs, and nutria, as well as archery hunting for deer, primitive firearms hunting for deer, and nighttime hunting for raccoon.
