The New Orleans City Council is crying foul after Mayor LaToya Cantrell pulled out of a $20 million settlement with NOLA Public Schools.

The deal was the resolution to a long-running legal battle over tax revenue, and would provide necessary funding for student programs.

Cantrell's administration helped negotiate the deal in November, but her office now claims it's not legally binding because she didn't personally sign the settlement agreement.

Council members say they're ready to take legislative action to enforce the deal.
