Professional hockey may be coming back to New Orleans.
NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly reportedly attended a meeting in New York City to discuss bringing an expansion team to one of a number of cities including New Orleans.
The New Orleans Brass played from 1999 to 2002 in the New Orleans Arena, which is now called the Smoothie King Center.
NHL officials haven't said they plan to expand their roster of 32 teams anytime soon, but Phoenix, Atlanta, Houston, and other cities have expressed interest in a franchise.
