New Orleans city officials say they don't know who painted over a wall of messages for the victims of the Bourbon Street terrorist attack.

A plaque now marks the location, and officials don't know who placed it there.

The plaque, on the side of a Walgreens at the corner of Bourbon and Canal Streets, directs visitors to The Presbytère museum, where 14 crosses honoring the victims were moved last month.

The plaque includes the seal of the City of New Orleans, but it wasn't authorized by city officials.
