The Saints are bringing back a member of their defense on a hefty new contract.
ESPN reports that New Orleans is re-signing defensive end Chase Young to a three-year, $51 million deal that will be worth up to $57 million.
The 25-year-old totaled 31 tackles and 5 1/2 sacks in 17 games played last season. He has 22 career sacks through five NFL seasons.
In other news, the team has acquired defensive tackle Davon Godchaux from the New England Patriots in exchange for a 2026 seventh-round pick.
The 30-year-old has two years remaining on an extension he signed with the Patriots last summer.
