A former Jefferson Parish deputy is in custody and accused of soliciting a teenage girl online.
Deputies arrested James Traylor of Mandeville on Thursday for computer-aided solicitation of a juvenile.
The teenager's parents called deputies on Wednesday night after finding inappropriate messages between their daughter and a man later identified as Traylor.
Investigators say more charges may result if more victims come forward.
Traylor retired from the sheriff's office in 2022 and served as a reserve deputy until his arrest.
