LSP Trooper Resigns After Being Charged With Shoplifting In Hammond

A former Louisiana State Trooper faces a shoplifting charge in Hammond.

Brandon Ostarly resigned from the state force after Hammond police issued him a summons on March 20 for theft by shoplifting at the Target store in Hammond Square Mall.

If convicted, Ostarly could face six months in prison or a fine of up to $1,000.

Ostarly worked as a sergeant in the LSP's Detectives Division, and participated in investigations statewide.
