Investigators say two teen suspects used a stolen NOPD pistol in an armed robbery that got one of them killed.
As the suspects reportedly robbed Sam's Meat Market in New Orleans East in December, a store clerk shot and killed 16-year-old suspect Cecil Batiz.
Both of the suspects were armed, and one of them was using a Glock stolen from a New Orleans police officer's car in 2022.
Batiz's accused accomplice, 18-year-old Teony Juarez, is charged with manslaughter in Batiz's death.
He's also charged with armed robbery and faces deportation, since ICE says he's a Honduran national in the country illegally.
