NOPD Chief: City, Community Decides Whether Bourbon St. Is Pedestrian Only

NOPD Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick says it's up to city and community leaders to decide whether to close Bourbon Street to vehicular traffic.

Kirkpatrick was commenting Wednesday on a consulting firm's report following the January 1st terrorist attack.

The report recommended turning Bourbon Street into a pedestrian-only zone.

The New Orleans Police & Justice Foundation hired former NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton and Teneo Risk to prepare the report following the deadly New Year's Day terrorist attack on Bourbon Street. You can read the full report here.

Kirkpatrick said the New Orleans police will implement whatever decision the city makes.
