New Orleans is terminating its French Quarter and downtown trash collection contract with IV Waste.

City officials announced on Wednesday that it had given the company a 90-day notice of termination of its contract, effective July 30.

Henry Consultants will take over trash collection services in the area starting August 1.

The city entered into a one-year emergency contract with IV Waste in December, and its trucks started rolling on December 23.
