Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill says as many as 160 doors at the Orleans Parish jail need to be repaired or have their locks replaced.

Murrill made the statement after touring the jail on Wednesday.

The Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office has said faulty locks were a factor in the escape of ten inmates from the jail last Friday. Inmates reportedly tamper with the locks and damage them.

Prior to the jailbreak, the sheriff's office told the City Planning Commission the jail needs more than $5 mllion for lock replacement.
