St. Bernard Parish residents are sounding off in opposition to a proposed port terminal in Violet.
The US Army Corps of Engineers hosted a public hearing on Tuesday night, and the locals spoke out against the project.
Residents believe the container terminal would bring about 1,700 trucks through their neighborhoods every day. They expressed concerns about safety, traffic, and noise.
Port NOLA officials say the terminal is necessary because the Crescent City Connection Bridge blocks larger ships from reaching the city's port infrastructure.
