A New Orleans woman is calling on park officials to install warning signs after an alligator attacked her dog in City Park.
Katharine Hurley says the attack happened as she walked her dog near Scout Island. Hurley says she kicked the gator repeatedly until it let go.
The dog survived but needed immediate care. Hurley suffered a hairline fracture in her leg.
She says there were no warning signs in the area, even though she learned that an alligator had killed another dog in City Park.
Officials say warning signs are on their way.
