Organizers of Essence Fest say this year's ticket sales are down
New Orleans businesses are still expecting a big economic impact from the festival, which kicks off on Thursday and continues through Sunday.
A New Orleans and Company spokesperson says hotel occupancy is at 80 percent heading into this weekend, which isn't shabby.
Last year's ticket sales broke records, but it's a hard act to follow, since Vice President Kamala Harris came to town for the event during her presidential campaign.
