New Orleans police will soon resume clearing the homeless from the streets in the French Quarter and Marigny neighborhoods.

Gov. Jeff Landry ordered state troopers to clear the area before tourist crowds came to town for the Super Bowl and Mardi Gras.

Local business owners say the homeless problem came back after the carnival season was over.

Starting next Monday, police will remove anybody sleeping on the streets and offer them a bed at the city shelter on Gravier Street.
