Slidell Mayor Bill Borchert is facing a challenge for his job from Police Chief Randy Fandal.
Borchert points to his experience not only as mayor, but previously as the CEO of a limousine rental company. He says he had to put together a budget and a payroll and deal with problems as they came up.
Fandal has spent more than 40 years in law enforcement, six of them as Slidell police chief.
Both candidates agree with residents that drainage and flooding problems, especially on Gause Boulevard, should be a top priority.
