Louisiana leaders are responding to Wednesday's murder of conservative political activist Charlie Kirk.
Kirk was pronounced dead a few hours after he was shot while speaking at Utah Valley University.
In social media posts prior to the announcement of Kirk's death, Governor Jeff Landry, state Attorney General Liz Murrill, and House Majority Leader Steve Scalise said they were praying for him.
Scalise and several other Republican congressmen were shot and wounded in 2017 by a Bernie Sanders supporter.
Kirk was scheduled to speak at LSU next month as part of his American Comeback Tour.
