Testimony continues on Wednesday in the trial of Tyrell Morris, former head of the Orleans Parish Communications District.
Morris is charged with malfeasance in office, insurance fraud, impersonating an officer, and injuring public records.
The charges arise from a 2024 incident in which he crashed a city vehicle on his birthday and reportedly tried to cover it up in an insurance fraud scheme.
The prosecution and defense made opening statements on Monday. The trial resumes Wednesday because today is Rosh Hashanah.
