Nearly 800,000 Louisiana residents are waiting for their SNAP benefits to be funded as the federal government shutdown continues.

Gov. Jeff Landry signed an executive order late last month to fund the food stamps of about 95 percent of the state's SNAP recipients. They expected it to happen by Saturday, but unfunded cards are still being reported.

Federal judges on Friday ordered the Trump administration to fund SNAP payments despite the shutdown, but Trump says his lawyers aren't sure the court orders are legal.
