Pels Snap 4 Game Losing Streak With Win Over Suns

The Pelicans snapped a 4-game losing streak on Monday night with a 111-106 victory over the Phoenix Suns.

Anthony Davis had 34 points, nine rebounds and five blocks to lead the Pelicans to the victory. Jrue Holiday added 30 points, nine boards and seven assists.

T.J. Warren scored 20 points for Phoenix, which has lost seven of its last eight.  Devin Booker finished with 14 points on 5-of-20 shooting in the setback.

“I thought we did a good job defensively and we executed much better offensively even on some shots that we missed or some shots that we got to the basket and didn’t quite finish," Coach Alvin Gentry said, "I just thought we did a good job of executing, but we won it because I thought we had defensive stops when we needed them most.”

Gentry applauded the duo of Davis and Holiday.

“If they can get sixty-four every night, we’ll be in good shape. I like that formula. I just thought Jrue was really aggressive and I thought AD did a really good job of letting the game come to him. I didn’t think he really forced anything. They tried to be physical with him and he did a great job of not letting that bother him. Because of that, I thought that his shots and everything that he took and Jrue, attacking the basket, I thought it helped tremendously.”
