The Tulane University Police Department has notified students and staffers that a woman was a victim of armed robbery early Thursday morning at the intersection of Zimple and Lowerline.
The victim, reported to be "an affiliate" of the university, lost her i-Phone to a gunman around 1:30 a.m.
While walking, she was approached from behind by a robber who placed his hand on her shoulder and pointed a gun at her back. As she turned around, the gunman said "gimme that" and took her phone.
An accomplice was standing nearby and was acting as a lookout.
Both subjects, described by the victim as black males between the ages of 18 and 20, then fled the scene on foot down Zimple Street towards Pine Street.
