Pels Edge Suns, 110-108

Anthony Davis scored 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Pelicans past the Suns, 110-108, at Talking Stick Resort Arena on Monday night.

New Orleans trailed by as many as 12 before using a 33-point fourth quarter to rally for the victory.  The Pelicans are 22-and-34.

Eric Bledsoe dropped 37 points on 11-of-22 shooting in the loss.  Phoenix is 2-and-10 in its last 12.

The Pelicans trailed by 12 points in the first half but crept back in it and edged the Suns in the final minute. Anthony Davis scored a go-ahead short hook shot with 40 seconds remaining, giving New Orleans a 109-108 edge. After Tyreke Evans sank a free throw at 0:18 for a two-point lead, Phoenix had three chances from the paint to tie the score, but couldn’t convert. The Suns and Pelicans had already previously played two overtime contests in 2016-17.

New Orleans assured itself of at least a .500 road trip, improving to 2-1 entering Wednesday’s finale at Memphis.

“Against this team, if you go back and look at the four games, they have all been like this," Alvin Gentry said. "The one thing that we had to do at the end was first some up with a stop and then come up with a rebound."
