Two persons were killed and six others were injured during the first weekend of Carnival parades in New Orleans.
The most disturbing incident for parade-goers occurred at about 8:45 p.m. Saturday night near Lee Circle as the Krewe of Pygmalion was rolling.
Two teenagers were shot in the 1000 block of Carondelet Street. A 15-year-old boy was shot in the right arm and a 17-year-old was shot in the shoulder.
Police Superintendent Micheal Harrison says approximately 50 officers were in the area at the time.
In another incident early Sunday morning, two men were shot and one was fatally injured in an incident in the 1500 block of Canal Street.
Also on Sunday morning, a man was fatally stabbed in the 4600 block of Clara Street near Ochsner Baptist Hospital.
