With just two days to go in their special session, members of the Louisiana legislature may be nearing a compromise on a plan to address a $304 million revenue shortfall in the current state budget.
It appears that members of the House may be willing to accept a Senate proposal to use $99 million in "rainy day" funds as part of the fix.
Democrat Governor John Bel Edwards had proposed using $119 million in reserve funds to address the shortfall.
The legislature must complete the special session by Wednesday night.
