There was a lot of shouting and little dialogue on Wednesday as Senator Bill Cassidy ran into a crowd of Trump protesters at his town hall meeting at the Jefferson Parish Library in Metairie.
Nearly 200 people were inside for the meeting and several hundred more gathered outside carrying signs protesting the coming repeal and replacement of Obamacare, the President's positions on restricting immigration, his Cabinet selections and the proposed defunding of Planned Parenthood.
Cassidy didn't appear to be rattled, but he was shouted down and interrupted as he tried to speak.
The Senator did win applause when he defended immigrant doctors working in the country with green cards.
Following the raucous session Cassidy said he "anticipated" what happened.
"At some point, you just started to have fun," he said. "Some of the folks, they disagree with me but I took their question, I tried to answer and they thanked me."
