The New Orleans Saints are apparently ready to part ways with safety Jairus Byrd.
A report by Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network says the Saints will release Byrd on March 9th, the first day of free agency.
Byrd became the highest paid safety in the NFL when he joined the team in 2014, but played only one full season with the Saints due to injuries. He was due to make nearly $8 million this year.
