A fourth and final debris collection pass begins in New Orleans East today and will continue through Sunday.
Crews have picked up nearly 12,000 tons of debris from the EF-3 tornado that damaged hundreds of properties on February 7.
Collections are being made in areas bounded by Chantilly Drive to Bullard Avenue and from Chef Menteur Highway to Dwyer Road.
A disaster recovery center remains open at the public library at 5641 Read Boulevard.
Beginning Monday, the center will have new hours. It will be open Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and it will be closed on Sundays.
