Utah Scores 88-83 Victory Over Pelicans

The Jazz never trailed in an 88-83 win over the Pelicans in Utah on Monday night.

Gordon Hayward poured in 23 points for the Jazz, who have won three straight to get to 40-and-24 on the season.  Rudy Gobert had 15 points and 15 rebounds in the win.

Anthony Davis finished with 20 points for New Orleans, which has lost five of seven since the All-Star break. DeMarcus Cousins had 15 points and eight boards in defeat.

Shooting was a problem again on Monday. The Pels shot a season-worst 35.7 percent from the field and needed a couple final-minute buckets to avoid their lowest point total of the season.

“I don’t know the reason, we’re just not making shots," Davis said. "Guys are in the gym every day practicing those shots and making them.”

 New Orleans scored a season-low 14 first-quarter points.
