The Saints reportedly have signed free agent pass rusher Alex Okafor to a 1-year, $3 million deal.
Okafor has spent the past four seasons with the Arizona Cardinals in the position of outside linebacker.
The 26-year-old was a starter for the Cardinals in 2014 and 2015 but returned to a reserve role in 2016. He played with a torn biceps last year but still was credited with 3.5 sacks.
Meanwhile, the Associated Press reports that Patriots' corner Malcolm Butler will visit the Saints on Thursday.
New England placed a first-round tender on Butler, which would pay $3.91 million in 2017. The Patriots can match any offer sheet given to Butler.
Should the Saints sign the 27-year-old to a long-term contract offer that New England does not match, they would be forced to give up a first-round pick. their No. 11 selection.
