Orleans coroner identifies victims in Brutus Street triple homicide

The three victims of a Saturday night triple homicide in New Orleans East have been officially identified by the Orleans Parish Coroner.

Clifton Norbert, Jr., 66, Joseph Davis, 58 and Catherine Caufield, 57, were all shot to death Saturday night in the 6700 block of Brutus Street.

New Orleans Police Superintendent Michael Harrison said police received a call shortly before 9 p.m. alerting officers to the shooting.

A man told police he found the three victims fatally shot in the kitchen when he returned to the home.

“The individuals were most likely in the kitchen at the same time together," Harrison said. "At some point, someone entered the home.”

Police are hoping that someone will come forward with information to help them find the shooter or shooters.

One nearby resident said someone needs to come forward with information.

“This killing needs to stop. This killing needs to stop. This is every day in New Orleans,” says Monique Ellzey.
