The death of a 3-week old boy has been classified as a homicide by the New Orleans Police Department.
Officers were called to a home in the 4700 block of Lafaye Street just after midnight on Thursday morning where they found the infant dead. They were told that the baby had been injured in a fall.
On Thursday evening, the NOPD reported that "further evidence" that was developed through an autopsy conducted by the Coroner led the department to reclassify the death as a homicide.
The department says the investigation continues.
