Former Kenner Councilman Elected To State House

When the state legislature begins the annual spring session next month, former Kenner City Councilman Joe Stagni will represent House District 92.

Stagni swamped two other candidates on Saturday, picking up 73% of the votes cast.  Turnout was less than 10%.

The 53-year-old chiropractor served two terms on the Kenner Council after first being elected in 2006.

Stagni says he is "looking forward to working hard to tackle the tough issues" that impact the district which covers parts of  Kenner, Metairie and St. Rose.

Stagni succeeds Tom Willmott who resigned last year to join the Kenner City Council.
