Governor John Bel Edwards will release his plan this week to restructure the state's tax system.
Edwards may propose the elimination of some state tax exemptions and rebates when he outlines his tax reform plan on Wednesday.
He has talked about eliminating the one-cent increase in the state sales tax that was approved last year and replacing it by extending sales taxes to other services that are purchased including cable television service.
Edwards has also expressed support for a proposal to replace the state tax on corporate income with a corporate tax on sales known as a gross receipts tax.
The legislature's 60-day session will begin on Monday, April 10.
