Former St. Tammany District Attorney Walter Reed was sentenced to 4 years in prison today for his corruption conviction last year.
It had been estimated that Reed would face between 9 and 11 years for his 18 convictions on corruption charges, included money laundering, wire fraud, mail fraud and conspiracy. Reed's son Steven, who had been convicted as well as given probation.
Reed came under fire after he was featured in a series of Lee Zurik investigations on Fox 8. The charges invovled his person use of campaign funds and his pocketing St. Tammany parish hospital payments.
