A 17-month old girl was struck and killed by a truck on Monday while playing outside her grandmother's home in the Slidell area.
Police say little Koreyanna Kirsh was hit by a box truck that was traveling on East Forest Street near Timbers Drive.
The child ran into the path of the vehicle.
The 21-year-old driver told officers he did not see the girl.
A spokesman for the St. Tammany Sheriff's Office said the driver was not speeding or operating his vehicle in a reckless fashion and no charges were expected to be filed.
