The Pelicans have concluded their second consecutive losing season with a record of 34-48.
The Pels went 21-20 at home and 13-28 on the road.
They wrapped up their season with a victory over the playoff-bound Portland Trailblazers.
Jordan Crawford scored a team-high 15 points to lead the Pelicans past the Blazers 103-100 in Portland. Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins were held out of the season finale for New Orleans. Cheick Diallo posted 12 points and 16 boards in the winning effort.
The Blazers rested starters Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum ahead of their first-round matchup with Golden State. Shabazz Napier had 25 points in defeat. Portland ended the regular season at 41-and-41.
The Pels finished in 10th place in the NBA West ahead of Dallas, Sacramento, Minnesota, the Lakers and Phoenix. Last year, they were 12th with a record of 30-52.
On ending the season with a victory, Coach Alvin Gentry said, “It was important in the sense that I wanted us to compete and play hard. I thought we did that for the most part. The unit that we had in there I thought we played hard and did a good job of executing. Came up with a couple of really big plays.”
