A man was fatally stabbed late Thursday night during an altercation outside the Westgate Tavern in the 2700 block of Mississippi Avenue in Metairie.
The victim was identified only as a white male.
He was found in the rear parking lot of the bar shortly after 11 p.m. and was pronounced dead on the scene.
The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office reports that the victim and another man had been involved in an argument inside the establishment and a bartender told them to leave.
Once outside, the two got into a physical altercation and 52-year-old Christopher Farley of Metairie allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim multiple times.
Farley was taken into custody without incident but was not immediately charged.
