New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu is one of several recipients getting letters from the Department of Justice.
The letters say there must be proof of cooperation with federal immigration authorities, or risk losing law-enforcement grant money.
The letter were sent to "sanctuary cities" that limit cooperation with the federal government. Those getting the letters are being given until June 30th to comply.
