Landrieu To Meet With U.S. Attorney General

The Mayor of New Orleans will join other four other mayors at a meeting today at the Justice Department with U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

The mayors are part of the U.S. Conference of Mayors.  Mitch Landrieu is the Vice President of the organization.

The meeting is intended to provide an opportunity for the Attorney General to hear directly from mayors and police chiefs about the importance, effectiveness, and constitutionality of local policing practices, and for the mayors to hear from Sessions about his Department’s public safety priorities, including community policing, reducing violent crime, and immigration enforcement.

Joining Landrieu are the mayors of Austin, Columbia, South Carolina, Gary, Indiana and Providence, Rhode Island.
