Tulane Scores 4th Consecutive Victory Over LSU

Tulane scored five runs in the seventh inning at Turchin Stadium on Tuesday night and went on to beat LSU, 9-6.

It was Tulane's fourth consecutive victory over the Tigers. It's the first time the Wave has won four in a row against LSU since 1975-77.

Freshman pitcher Zack Hess suffered the first loss of his career as he retired just one of seven batters and give up three earned runs.

"Listen, the kid's human," coach Paul Mainieri said after the game.  "I haven't lost any confidence in him and I'm sure he hasn't lost any confidence in himself."

"We have that attitude of 'never out of it' especially the way we're swinging the bats," Tulane head coach Travis Jewett said. "When you're in those striking ranges, you feel good about it. It was a good response by our guys there."

With the loss, LSU dropped to 27-15 on the season. Tulane improved to 21-21.
