The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal shooting in Harvey.
The victim, identified as 32-year-old Darrell Peterson, was found dead in his apartment in the 1100 block of Scottsdale Driver shortly before 11 p.m. on Saturday.
His body was discovered by his girlfriend who spotted it through a front window. Peterson was lying on the floor with a single gunshot wound to his head.
Detective say the back door of the apartment was open.
The woman told police she had last spoken with Peterson around 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
JPSO investigators did not immediately have a motive.
