Jarrius Robertson, the 15-year-old Saints fan who has battled a chronic liver disease that has affected his physical growth, has undergone a liver transplant.
The news came from his father, Jordy.
Jarrius, who signed a "contract" last year on "Good Morning America" to become a "hype man" for the Saints, handed out an award on the NFL Honors awards show with Sean Payton and Harry Connick Jr. earlier this year.
The teenager first met the team while at Ochsner Children’s Hospital last year.
Drew Brees was happy to hear the news and wished him well on Twitter.
The surgery was completed in six-and-a-half hours and doctors told his parents it went better than expected.
