Hundreds of volunteers are wanted for a hurricane evacuation exercise.
The city's office of emergency preparedness is planning the exercise for May 17th at the Morial Convention Center. The exercise will test the city's plan to be able to safely and effectively evacuate as many as 40,000 people in the case of a mandatory hurricane evacuation order.
A free lunch and free parking will be provided to the volunteers. Those interested in participating in the exercise may register online at nola-fullscale.com.
