Court Rejects Bid To Stop Beauregard Monument Removal

A judge says no to a last-ditch attempt to stop the removal of the P.G.T Beauregard monument.

The request for a temporary injunction barring the removal was based on a question of whether the city of New Orleans owns it or not.  A city attorney said those against the statue being removed have not proven anyone but the city owns it and the judge agreed.

This is the latest effort in the controversial plans to remove memorials honoring the confederacy.
