Trump Budget Kills Gulf Oil Revenue Program

Senate Budget Committee Presents President Trump's FY2018 Budget To Media

President Trump's proposed budget would take away up to $140 million dollars a year from Louisiana.

The monies are used for coastal restoration and hurricane protection projects. The budget proposes repealing the Gulf of Mexico Energy Security Act, which splits 35% of Gulf offshore oil revenue between Gulf shore states.

The Office of Management and Budget says the money adds up to more than $3.5 billion through fiscal year 2027.
