A bill requiring all charter and private schools' staff to receive training in suicide prevention is heading to the governor's desk for his signature.
House Bill 452 mandates charter and nonpublic school teachers, principals, counselors and administrators to undergo two hours of in-service suicide prevention training. Public school teachers and staff are already required to undergo such training.
Governor John Bel Edwards is expected to sign the measure.
