A state bill to raise the minimum wage is not progressing after being shot down in the state senate.
SB 153 would have brought the minimum wage up to eight dollars an hour next year and another hike in 2019 would have made it $8.50.
Yesterday, three Democrats on the state senate voted in favor of the bill while seven Republicans voted against it effectively killing the measure.
