A measure that would have raised the gasoline tax is dead in the state Legislature.
Representative Steve Carter says he pulled his HB 632 out of consideration due to a lack of support. The bill never reached the floor for debate.
Had the measure prospered, the extra gas tax monies collected would have gone to infrastructure improvement projects around the state.
