The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office is not charging a man involved in the shooting death of another man in a Marrero store parking lot.
NOLA.com/The Times-Picayune reported that the JPSO released the suspect on Wednesday night.
Larry Gillard died from gunshot wounds Wednesday afternoon. He and the other man were sitting in a car at the Lapalco One Stop Shop on Lapalco Boulevard when they got into a fight.
The other man told deputies he had to defend himself when Gillard pulled a gun on him to rob him so he pulled his own gun out and shot Gillard.
The Jefferson Parish District Attorney's office still must review the investigators' evidence for not pressing charges.
