Gov. John Bel Edwards has made his choice for the next leader of State Police - the interim superintendent, Col. Kevin Reeves.
Reeves took over for Col. Mike Edmonson, who retired in March amid questions about State Police spending.
The Advocate reports a statement from the Governor says Reeves has done an "exceptional job" as interim superintendent. Reeves, who has served with State Police for over 25 years, is said to be humbled by the selection.
